The project’s aim is to examine the heterogeneity of pupils and the potential problems of students with a migrant background. From the perspective of different disciplines, the central questions of the best integration of these students are identified, which are followed up in interdisciplinary projects. A focus of the work in Freiburg is the investigation of expectations of teachers about their students. We investigate the meaning of inaccurate teacher expectations for the academic development of students and non-academic outcomes.
